JEE Main examinations is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency). Through this examination, students are eligible to get admission to the B.Tech & B.Arch courses. This exam is organized twice every year in national level. On the basis of JEE Main score, students can get to the various NITs, CFTIs, IITs and other institutions of India.
JEE Advanced 2023
JEE Advanced exam is conducted to offer admission into bachelor’s, Integrated master’s & dual degree courses in all the IITs. These courses are offered in the area of engineering, sciences & architecture. It is regulated by the IITs on a rotation basis. Candidates can apply for this exam on a national level. Every year, the examination is organized in the month of May via online mode.
GATE 2023
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national level examination. This exam is organized for admission to the masters & doctoral degree courses in engineering, technology, architecture & science. It is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) & the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
IIT JAM 2023
IIT JAM examination is organized by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotation basis. It is a national level entrance test. Through this exam, candidates can get admission to the 2 years M. Sc, Joint M. Sc – Ph. D, M. Sc – Ph.D. dual degree & other post-bachelor’s degree courses.
WBJEE 2023
WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB). This exam is a state level entrance test. It is conducted for admission to the various UG courses in the area of engineering, pharmacy, technology & architecture.
COMEDK UGET 2023
COMEDK UGET examination is conducted by the COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental of Karnataka). It is organized for candidates, those seeking admission to the engineering courses in Karnataka state. This exam is a state level examination. The authority also invites application for architecture courses on the basis of NATA score.
IISC 2023
IISC Admission Procedure is regulated by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. The university offer undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D & research courses in the field of engineering, technology, science, etc. No examination is organized by the university. The admission into these courses is given on the basis of national level examinations, such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, NEET, etc.
IIST 2023
IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) is a deemed university which runs various UG, PG, doctoral and post-doctoral level programmes. The university regulates a national level admission procedure for providing admission to these courses. The admissions to these courses are done through JEE Advanced, GATE, JEST, UGC NET, etc.
NEET 2023
AIIMS examination is organized for providing admission to the MBBS programme in AIIMS Institutions. Every year, this exam is regulated by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. It is a national level examination. Through this exam, the admission is offered in the following AIIMS Institutions, i.e. Bhopal, Guntur, Rishikesh, New Delhi, Nagpur, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur & Bhubaneshwar.
JIPMER 2023
JIPMER exam is organized by the Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry. It is conducted to offer admission into MBBS courses in the university & its affiliated campuses. This exam is a national level entrance examination.

CAT 2023
CAT (Common Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the PG management course all over the country. It is regulated by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). This test is a national level admission test. It is compulsory to qualify this exam for admission to the IIMs & other reputed management institutions.
MAT 2023
MAT examination is managed by the All India Management Association (AIMA). Through this aptitude test, students can get admission to the MBA/PGDM courses all over the India. It is a national level management aptitude test. This exam is organized four times in a year.
XAT 2023
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is a national level entrance test. This test is conducted by the Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI). It is held for providing admission to the various management programmes. XAT score card is accepted by the more than 150 B-Schools of the country.
CMAT 2023
CMAT examination is organized to offer admission into various management courses, i.e. MBA, PGDM, PGCM, Executive PGDM, etc. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is organized by National Testing Agency (NTA).
GMAT 2023
GMAT exam is regulated by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) throughout the year. It is an international level examination. Through this exam, the admission is offered into MBA programme in foreign countries institutions. In India, various institutions also accept GMAT scores.
ATMA 2023
ATMA examination is conducted for the selection of candidates to MBA, PGDM, PGDBA, MCA & other PG management course. It is a national level single window admission test. ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) is administrated by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS).
SNAP 2023
Symbiosis National Aptitude Online Test (SNAP) is a university level exam regulated by the Symbiosis International University. Candidates who wants to join programmes like MBA, M. Sc (CA) & M. Sc (SS) etc. offered by various Symbiosis Institutions. After qualifying the test, shortlisted candidates will need to attend the GE-PIWAT process.
KMAT Karnataka 2023
KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) is conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA). This exam is organized for providing admission to the MBA/PGDM programme. It is a national level examination which is open for all candidates from India & abroad.

CLAT examination is conducted for admission to the integrated LLB & LLM courses all over the country. This exam is regulated by the 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) on a rotation basis. CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a national level entrance test. CLAT score card is accepted by the all law institutions located in India.
AILET 2023
AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is managed by the National Law University (NLU), New Delhi. It is organized to provide admission into various undergraduate & postgraduate law programmes, i.e. BA LLB (Hons.), LLM & Ph.D. This exam is an all India level examination held one time in a year.

BITSAT examination is organized by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. This exam is conducted in a university level. Candidates have to apply for this exam to get admission into integrated first degree courses of BITS campuses. SRMJEE (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination) is held for candidates, those seeking admission to the B.Tech programmes. It is a university level entrance test. KIITEE examination is a university level examination. This exam is conducted by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar. AMU 2023
AMU (Aligarh Muslim University) runs a various UG & PG courses in different fields such as engineering, law, science, management, etc. The university organizes a university level examination for admission into these courses. Only Indian & NRI candidates can apply for this exam.
PESSAT 2023
PESSAT exam is conducted to offer admission into various undergraduate & postgraduate courses in the field of engineering, management, computer application, etc. This exam is administrated by the PES University. Candidates can apply for PESSAT (PES Scholastic Aptitude Test) exam in a national level.
Delhi University 2023
Delhi University (University of Delhi) is one of the famous universities of India. The university runs various bachelors, masters & doctoral level courses. The admission into these courses is done through entrance test or merit based. For admission to the B.Tech course, candidates have to pass the JEE Main examination.
JNU Admission 2023
JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) is premier institution which regulates various UG, PG & doctoral degree courses in various fields. JNUEE (Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination) is conducted by NTA to enroll candidates in various UG / PG courses. For admission into Biotechnology Programmes, JNU CEEB is conducted.
BHU 2023
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts a separate examination for admission to the UG, PG and other courses. The university organizes Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) for UG and Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) for PG courses admission. It is a university level examination. Through this entrance exam, candidates can get admission to the university & its affiliated colleges.
Alliance University 2023
Admission Alliance University organizes a university level examination for admission to the UG, PG & doctoral level programmes. These courses are provided in the field of engineering, law, management, etc. For B.Tech courses, it conducts Alliance University Engineering Entrance Test (AUEET). It is a private university formed in the year 2010.

GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) exam is organized by National Testing Agency (NTA). It is organized to offer admission into M.Pharm course. This exam is a national level entrance test. It is a computer based online test held in the month of January every year.

ICAR AIEEA 2023
ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Exam) is conducted by National Tesing Agency (NTA). This exam is organized to offer admission into UG & PG courses in agriculture & allied science courses. It is a national level examination. The authority organizes separate tests for UG & PG programmes, i.e. AIEEA UG & AIEEA PG.

Is THERE any separate entrance exam to join SJIM?
No. Prospective students need to submit any of the CAT, XAT, or MAT scores. We also accept GMAT, ATMA, and CMAT scores instead.
Is it compulsory to submit my entrance exam scores in my application?
Yes, you are required to submit your common entrance exam scores as part of your application.
Can I apply if I have not yet taken the MAT?
If you have not yet taken any entrance exam, you may still apply. If you are offered admission, you must take your MAT in February or May and obtain a score above 550.
What is the cut-off score for my under-graduate degree?
The cut-off is 50% aggregated marks during each year of your under-graduate studies.
What is the cut-off score for the CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, etc?
There is no fixed cut-off for these exams. However, you are expected to perform well in these because a candidate with a higher score will be given preference.
What can I do if my MAT scores are below the cut-off?
If your MAT scores are below the cut-off, you can take the MAT exam again to improve your score. The MAT is conducted four times a year, so you have several opportunities to improve your score.
I have written many entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT. Which score should I enter in the application form? Which score will you consider for admission?
Please enter all the scores. This will help us judge consistency in your academic performance. Your best score across the different exams will be considered.
I have the scores of entrance exam taken in the last year. Can I apply with those scores?
No. You have to apply with the recent entrance scores.
If I have done BSc or BA or BE, can I apply? How difficult will this course be for me if I am not from a business or commerce background?
Yes, you can apply irrespective of your background. In fact, we encourage students from diverse educational backgrounds to apply. Please remember that irrespective of your stream of under-graduate studies, you should have scored at least 60% aggregated marks during each year of your under-graduate studies. The course work in the PGDM program is at the post-graduate level. Therefore, the course material will be equally difficult or easy for students from all backgrounds.
What are the eligibility criteria?

I am in the final year of my studies, can I apply?
You can apply. But if you are selected, you must clear all your exams before the date of joining.
What if I have a backlog that I have not yet cleared?
You can still apply for admission, but you must clearly mention the backlog details on your application form and during the personal interview. You will also have to clear the backlog before you start your program at SJIM.
Is there any cut-off for 10 th and 12 th standard marks?
Admission into the PGDM program is dependent on your marks in your under-graduate studies and on your common test scores (like MAT, CAT, etc). But good performance in your 10 th and 12 th helps to demonstrate consistent academic performance.

If I satisfy all the eligibility criteria, will I be given admission?
Admission into the PGDM program depends on several factors. You must meet the eligibility criteria and additionally, do well in your written essay and personal interview rounds.
What are my chances of admission?
SJIM prides itself on running a prestigious PGDM program. If you have a good entrance exam score, consistent academic performance above 60%, and you perform well in your interview, then you have a good chance of admission to SJIM.
Is work experience compulsory? What are my chances of admission if I do not have work experience?
Work experience is not compulsory, but it is preferable. Many of our students do not have any work experience before joining. Your academic performance and your personal interview will be the primary determinants for your admission.
ABOUT SJIM AND THE PGDM PROGRAM
Is SJIM affiliated to any university?
St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) is an autonomous institute that has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Your PGDM degree will be awarded by SJIM, and is approved by the AICTE.
Are SJIM and SJCBA the same institute?
St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) was formerly called St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration (SJCBA). They are the same institute.
Do you offer a PGDM or a MBA? What is the difference?
We offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Management or PGDM. In India, a PGDM and a MBA are both two-year full-time programs and are thus equivalent to each other. While an MBA is granted by a university or a college affiliated to a university, a PGDM is granted by institutes. The PGDM program at SJIM has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and it has given equivalence status of MBA.

Is the PGDM program a day program or an evening program?
The PGDM program is a two-year full-time day program.
Can I specialize in my PGDM?
Yes. We have a dual-specialization at SJIM. You can choose two among four streams of specialization – Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Operations.
How good are the placements at SJIM? What is the average package?
SJIM has an excellent placement record for the last 20 years. Many of the top, reputed companies come to the campus for hiring.
Is there internship during the program? Is it mandatory?
All students have to do a two-month internship after the completion of third trimester in the month of April and May.
Does the college provide internships?
Finding internship is primarily student’s responsibility. Whenever the college receives internship requirements from the companies, students may apply for the same.
What is the duration of the PGDM program? How many years is the PGDM program?
The PGDM program is a 2-year full-time program approved by the AICTE.
What are the college timings?
Classes in the college are usually held between 8:30am and 5:00pm, from Mondays to Saturdays. However, due to events or scheduling of elective courses or extra classes, these timings can vary.
Where is the college located? How do I get to the college?
SJIM is located in the heart of Bangalore, just off MG Road. We are reachable by private transport (there is ample basement parking for all students and visitors), bus (brigade road stop), and metro (trinity circle stop).
Is there any dress code?
Since you are joining a post-graduate course in management to become a future manager in an organization, it is expected that you will dress appropriately.
Do the faculty have good experience? How qualified are the faculty?
SJIM has an excellent faculty body. All faculty have several years of experience and most of them have PhDs from reputed business schools in India and abroad.
Does SJIM have a hostel for boys/girls?
Yes, SJIM has hostel facilities for both and girls. A new hostel for girls is constructed in the campus itself.
What are the hostel fees?
You require about Rs 80,000 per year, which includes-boarding and mess fees.
Does the college conduct international immersion programs?
Yes. The college conducts international immersion programs mostly in the month of June/July. . It is optional. Those who wish to go have to pay for the cost of the program.

FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
What is the fees for the PGDM program?
The fees for the 2023-24 batch is Rs.3.9 lakh per year for students from Karnataka and Rs.4.0 lakh per year for students from outside Karnataka. These fees can be paid in installments.
Can I get refund of the fees?
Fees once paid will not be refunded even in the case of a student’s failure / termination or withdrawal from the programme, after commencement of the programme. SJIM follows AICTE refund policy with respect to candidates withdrawing from the programme before commencement of the programme.
Does the college offer any scholarships?
Yes, SJIM offers several scholarships to students. These include General Merit Scholarships, Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, and Fee waiver to economically weaker students.
DATES AND TIMELINES
When can I start applying?
Applications open on 1 st November.
Till when are admissions open?
Depending on several criteria, SJIM may or may not hold multiple rounds of admission. Usually, applications for the first round of admission close in February, while applications for any further round(s) close in March.
Can I defer my admission by a year?
When does the PGDM course start?
Every year, PGDM classes begin in the first week of June. The exact date will be informed during the admission.
ADMISSION PROCESS
What details do I need to submit as part of my application?
SJIM uses an online application system. As a part of your application, you will need to provide details related to your background, your past education, your achievements, and so on.
Do I need to upload any documents?
Yes, you need to upload the following documents as a part of your application - 10 th and 12 th marks cards, Degree marks cards of all semesters, Entrance exam score card, Work experience certificate (if available).
Can I send my documents by post?
Yes, you can send in your documents by post instead of uploading them.
Are there admission interview centers outside Bangalore?
No. All admission interviews are conducted in the campus itself.
Can I give interview via Skype?
The College may offer Skype interview facility to the deserving students from North India. If so, it will be announced in the website. Students from South India have to come to the campus for the personal interview.
