What is this course?
Operation Theatre Technology is an allied course that gets up on board the medical profession. Operation Theatre technologists are responsible for direct and indirect patient care, setting up equipment and maintaining operation procedures. They are trained to assist the surgeons during the operation procedure and assume responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned. They will be deeply involved during critical operations and surgeons depend on them for the success of the operation, making for a lucrative career. |
Eligibility - For admission into bachelor's degree a student must have passed 10+2 exam with biology, chemistry and physics. For entrance into most colleges, a student will also have to appear for a competitive entrance exam. The tenure of the course is 3½ years including a six-month internship period as well. The course is affiliated to Ragiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences -- a government university. As the upper limit for the course is 40 years, any working person wanting to make a switch to this lucrative career by doing a diploma in the course.
