Bangalore Medical College was established in 1955 by Mysore Education Society. The society founder were Dr. R. Shivaram, Dr. Mekhri, Dr. B.K. Narayana Rao and Dr. B.V. Ramaswamy Shetty.In 1957 it was handed over to the Government of Mysore and was affiliated to Mysore University and then on to the Bangalore University. In 1996 it got affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

ADMISSION CRITERIA |
For Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy / Yoga courses, have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in the PCB group. 40% in the case of SC / ST / Category-1 candidates provided that for Dental course, the candidate must have secured 50% marks in the optional subjects including English subject.
The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2009. |
