COURSE DETAILS
Industrial Engineering is the study of optimization of any process or system. This stream of engineering may also overlap with, operations management, management science, systems engineering, management engineering, manufacturing engineering, ergonomics engineering, safety engineering, and others, depending on the viewpoint of the user. A factual example of what a industrial engineer can theoritically achieve - Henry Form started using assembly lines for manufacturing cars and reduced the assembly time of a car more than 700 hours to 1.5 hours. That's what an industrial endieer does - making complex things simple.

In India, MTech courses are offered in fewer colleges and those from IITs are considered more prestigious.
A student can also opt for a MTech degree from a foreign university such as Stanford. They can follow it up with a PhD and start into a research or teaching position. An engineer can also choose to do a MBA course to start on a management position. |
