Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
What is this course?
PharmD stands for Doctor of Pharmacy - an alternative to an MBBS degree and much less expensive. It is an integrated six-year course that gives the student a doctorate degree. That includes one year of internship. A PharmD graduate is of high demand in hospitals and private medical companies with high earning potential. |
Eligibility - For admission into the integrated course of PharmD, eligibility requirement is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age by 31st Dec. of the year of admission. Although, a student might have to appear for a competitive entrance exam, a few top colleges also allow for direct admission at the discretion of the college management. The tenure of the course is 6 years. The course is affiliated to Ragiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences -- a government university, recognized by Government of Karnataka and approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), & Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
